Things to do on the beautiful Hook Peninsula with your children after your family portrait session with Maureen Stuart Photography
things to do on the Hook Peninsula
The Hook Peninsula is so worth the journey. After your family portrait session with me why not spend the day here. Some of my favourite things to do here with children include:
- swimming, chasing waves and getting wet, fishing in rock pools, skimming stones, gathering shells, building sandcastles and burying daddy on the amazing beaches; Baginbun, Carnivan, Duncannon, Grange, Dollar Bay, Booley Bay to name but a few,
- visiting Hook lighthouse - the tour of the world's oldest operating lighthouse is fascinating for older children, while younger children will adore creating masterpieces with Hook's resident artist Rose (my boys would go every day if they could),
- walking in Tintern Abbey - listening to the history of the Abbey as told by the kid friendly guides, hunting for birds nests in the walls of the Abbey and then walking through the forest to the walled garden,
- Secret Valley Farm is about an hour from Fethard on Sea but may be on the way home for some and is a great place on a showery day as there is lots to do inside and out, from bottle feeding kid goats, playing crazy farm golf, sheltering in the indoor play barn and searching for the biggest pig ever.
